Arete Pro Tip #2
We will have three options this year. 1. We will have a 100% at home learning option. 2. We will have a hybrid option with two mornings on campus and the rest at home learning. 3. Finally we will have a Blended Middle School Program on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 9am-2pm for 6-8th graders. Click here to sign up. Arete Charter Academy Blended Middle School 25/26 Note: Per the State of California, students must be vaccinated or have a valid medical waiver to attend in person classes.
We will use this information to help us staff the Arete Resource Center and to purchase Chromebooks for the new school year. Resource Center hours are Mondays and Wednesday from 9am-12pm for 4-8th Grades (divided into cross grade level classrooms) and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-12pm for TK-3 (divided into grade level classrooms) and Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am-1pm. (You may have previously said you were interested in the Resource Center, but this form is where you OFFICIALLY sign up and we add your kiddo to the attendance sheet))
We will give your children social time with other students, whole group instruction, fun, academic support, and more. Please complete the form by August 1, 2025 to reserve your spot in the Resource Center and to reserve a Chromebook.
School starts August 14 for the Blended Middle School, Arete Charter High School and at home learning for the rest of the students. The Resource Center will open August 25 for 4-8th and August 27 for TK-3. See the attached calendar. Parent 25/26 Arete Calendar
Please complete this form so we know you received it and have made a decision. Otherwise we do not know if you received it and we want to prepare teachers and staff for the school year. Thanks so much!

From June 14 through Aug. 8, young readers can visit their local library to pick up a reading log or go digital with the Beanstack app, where they can track reading minutes, log book titles, and join leaderboard challenges with friends. Register or sign in at https://mynevadacounty.beanstack.com.

In 2023, Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap reported that 15.2% of Nevada County children under 18 were food insecure. This program aims to support local families and help ensure all children have access to nutritious meals this summer.
Why Summer Reading Matters
Children who don’t read during the summer can lose up to two months of learning by the time they return to school in the fall. Kids and teens who participate in summer learning programs and read at least six books over the summer tend to score higher in reading and math upon their return. That’s why libraries nationwide promote summer reading with engaging activities, challenges, and community events.
