Here are some helpful tips to make picture day great!

Schedule haircuts 7-10 days prior to picture day!

Wear simple clothing. Solid shirts or small patterns, along

with sleeves, photograph best. A simple collared shirt is a

timeless classic.

Avoid logos and text on clothing. Graphics or wording may

not photograph completely and can become partially cropped

out of your picture.

Sunday, September 15 Update

Hello families,

Three new field trips added and one updated date…

*The Nevada County Nutcracker-TK-8th Grade Thursday, December 19, 11:15-12:45. The Performances are at NUHS Don Baggett Theatre. Meet out front at 11am.

This presentation is put on by Center Stage Dance Studio. Arete will pre-pay for students. All parents and non-Arete siblings will $5. and This fee MUST be paid on Mealtime or in exact cash/check at the Arete front office by Friday, December 6, 2024.

*California Academy of Science- (in San Francisco) Friday, April 25 from 10:30am-5pm. The Planetarium show is at 12pm, and all students must be in line by 11:30pm. All families must meet Ms. Doerr by 10:15 in front. Once she enters the museum at 10:30am- you will not be able to enter without her. Arete students are free. The first six parents who sign up need to pay $15.95 out of pocket. The next five parents will pay $41.95. This fee MUST be paid on Mealtime or in exact cash/check at the Arete front office by Friday, April 1. The Academy of Sciences does not allow siblings on this field trip.

*Food Love Farm in Nevada City- Wednesday, April 30 from 10:30am-12:00pm All Ages and paid for by PRSD. Food Love Farm gives visitors a glimpse into our natural world offering endless hours of exploration, food education, and good old-fashioned farm fun. Directions to Food Love Farm

Cal Fire is hosting a visit by the Placer County Board of Supervisors on our scheduled field trip date, so we need to move the field trip to Thursday, October 3 at 1:30 at Cal Fire. Please log back in and delete your sign up if you can no longer attend at the new date. Thanks!

"Cookies and Classics" Reading Night

Our Dear Families! We are excited for our annual Reading Night held in the MPR, Thursday, September 26 at 5:30 pm. This year we will be diving into the children's classics, accompanied by another classic, cookies and milk. We are encouraging students to come in costume dressed as their favorite children's classic character, or some comfy pajamas. Don't forget to bring a cozy blanket and pillow for our reading time.

The schedule is as follows:

5:30- 6:00- Students will visit crafting booths and a book exchange table.

6:00- 6:15- Cookies and milk will be provided.

6:15- 7:00- Families will pile in the middle of the MPR with pillows,

and blankets for reading time.

We are also working towards a healthier campus and encourage snacks/treats that align with that. Low and zero waste items are preferred.

Hello all!

I am excited to announce that Elementary Band will be offered again this school year! Elementary Band is an afterschool enrichment program for fourth and fifth grade students who are interested in learning a musical instrument. In this program, students are taught how to play their instrument, read music, and even how to perform in front of an audience! Sign-ups for Elementary Band will open on September 9 at 7:00 AM. Priority will be given on a first come, first served basis because only limited numbers of each instrument are available (flute, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone). Cookies and Classics Reading Night

Dear Families,

You are invited to a fun filled night with reading, crafts, cookies, book exchange, and a rale. This year’s theme is centered around the Children’s Classics. Your student is encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Children’s Classic character. Or they can come in their PJs as well. Don’t forget to bring a book for the book exchange table and blankets and pillows for coziness during reading time.

When: Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Arete Charter Academy MPR

The schedule is as follows:

5:30-6:00 - Students will visit crafting booths and a book exchange table.

6:00-6:15- Cookies and milk will be provided.

Please complete ALL logs before you arrive and make every effort to arrive on time for your scheduled meeting. After your meeting, head to the office so your child can get their very own Arete Water Bottle!
