In an effort to make academic tutoring more accessible, once you have all of your curriculum purchased for the four core subjects, you can use the rest of the curriculum funds towards tutoring with Arete EA's or approved vendors! |
This week we will continue processing supply and subscription orders. Remember that supplies must be “basic” in nature, educational, and like what you would see in a classroom. If unsure of an item, please check the Parent Handbook as there are very detailed directions, or email [email protected] to check. |
Last week started our first round of 20 Day Meetings. Your Educational Advisor sent you detailed information, but please bring in ALL work completed for the 20 Day meeting so the EA can choose which two samples they want to use for each subject of English, Science, Social Studies and Math. Please complete ALL logs before you arrive and make every effort to arrive on time for your scheduled meeting. After your meeting, head to the office so your child can get their very own Arete Water Bottle! |
*Please email Sheila at [email protected] if you would like to order free/reduced breakfast or lunch this year. |

Sunday, August 18 Updates
Hello families,
We had a great first day of testing. We had a little tech issue, but it is worked out for future days. Reminder to send your child a water bottle, with some work to complete if they finish early or a book to read. We have snacks or if they want a special snack, they can bring that. If you have a 2-8th Grader who is NOT in the Blended Middle School, please click on the link and read the directions carefully if you have not signed up for testing yet. 2nd-8th Grade Fall NWEA Math and AR Reading Assessments 2024-2025 |
This will be the first sign-up for enrichments for the 2024-2025 School Year. There will be some classes that are single-week sign-ups and then some classes that are a series of classes with multiple sessions. If you sign up for a series of classes, please DO NOT sign up for additional classes that overlap. If you do so, the sign-up for the individual class will be deleted. There can be no overlap of classes, as Arete cannot pay for services that your child does not receive. For ALL classes, please check your calendar to see if your kiddo is REALLY available on the days you select. For classes canceled by families with less than one week's notice, student funds will be charged, and a "to go" kit will be waiting for you in the school office. (Instructors have to buy materials in advance, and other kids could attend). If a class is full and you want to be added to the waiting list, please email Sarah at [email protected]. Please sign up for classes at least 48 hours in advance so we can check to make sure you have enough funds and that the instructor has enough supplies. We will try to add more sessions of the same classes if possible. If classes do not meet the minimum number of students, they will be canceled with a week's notice, and funds will be returned to the student's account. ***If your child is out of funds, Arete will delete them from the class sign-up and Sign Up Genius will send you an email notifying you. Then you may refer back to the Sign Up for the Instructor's email address to make private arrangements for signing up for the class and for private payment. If school is canceled due to weather, enrichment classes will be rescheduled to the same day of the week if possible, but at the end of the trimester. California law requires all students who receive classroom instruction through a school to be up to date on vaccinations or have a valid medical waiver registered with the CAIR Me website. Blended Middle School Students use all of their funds for that program, so please email instructors to sign up and pay privately. Thanks! |
We will be sending out information later this week about Regular Resource Center and Academic Enrichment Classes which both start next week. |
*Please email Sheila at [email protected] if you would like to order free/reduced breakfast or lunch this year. |
We are a NUT FREE campus. Please save nut snacks for while at home. Also, we have some other class specific allergies, so please email Sarah and the classroom teacher BEFORE bringing in birthday treats. We are also working towards a healthier campus and encourage snacks/treats that align with that. Low and zero waste items are preferred. |
*If you checked out items for the summer, please return them to the front office this week from 8am-4pm. We need to inventory them before the school year starts and then you can re-check out the items if you still need them. |
*Our amazing garden parents are looking for more parents to help support the garden with completing projects or working with classes. Lori Long is our Garden Coordinator and would love a partner. Email l[email protected] if interested! |
We are so excited to offer a new round of field trips. Starting August 26, you may sign up for as many as you would like. Until then, please choose one per family. Please pay attention to age restrictions. All field trips meet at the location and parents drive/carpool with their children. An Arete teacher will meet you there. Please watch dates closely and make note of the field trips that require prepayment for adult chaperones. Please pay 2 weeks early in the Arete office with exact cash, check made to PRSD, or at Mealtime https://www.mymealtime.com/($20 minimum). We pre-pay for all Arete students so if you need to cancel with less than a week's notice, you will need to reimburse Arete for the field trip fee for your child. All field trips will start at the field trip location with check in 15 minutes before the start time. Families are responsible for making transportation arrangements for their children. Families typically join the field trip. Please email at [email protected] if you need to drop off and pick up your child. |
