*Arete’s First EVER Talent Show is coming (See what happens when you come to the Parent Action Committee meetings and give input).

Arete’s First Annual Talent Show!!! We’re so excited to invite all students to come share their talents! There will be performances during student's own Resource time at 11am on Monday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 17, and then everyone will perform together on Tuesday, May 17 at 5:30 at the amphitheater. Everyone is invited to bring blankets and picnics to enjoy the show!

Before that, registration for participants will take place April 18th and 19th at 12 PM. If they have an enrichment that day, we will take care of that with them. Students must register and show us the piece to participate in the show. Have them bring music, instruments, or anything else they need. There will be three more weeks for practice so it’s OK if it isn’t yet perfected. Please keep pieces, especially lip syncs, to 1 to 1 1/2 minutes long.  Part of the registration process will be assessing that all performances don’t need any adjustments for the show.

We can’t wait to see all the talent we know these kids have!

*We have posted our CAASP Testing Sign Up Genius for 3rd-8th grades ONLY. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a4eaaab29a6fe3-caasp1

Folsom Zoo Parent Payment Due Tomorrow 4/1

This is not an April Fools' Joke. If you do not pay for your spot tomorrow, we will release it to someone else. You have already been emailed a reminder. We are missing 11 payments!

Library, Film and Food Help for Spring Break News

This is just a friendly reminder that when books are ready to be returned to our Arete library, they must be turned into a blue return basket at the front office or in the library.

When books are placed directly on the shelf without me entering them back into the computer, they get "lost". Going through this system ensures that books go back to their proper location and you do not get charged for it being lost at the end of the year.

Thank you for enjoying our library!

Permission slips were sent home today to Tk-3rd grade students about the possibility in participating in a documentary film on kindness and selfishness. This is completely voluntary and not required. If you return the permission slip, students will be interviewed Tuesday, May 3rd. If you have questions, please email  if you have questions contact Catherine Busch, the filmmaker at [email protected].

We're inquiring to see if there is a need for some supplemental food bags for students during Spring break beginning 4/11. Bags would be dropped off to us April 7 or 8th and then would need to be picked up in the front office. Please let me know by 3/30 if this would be helpful.

Track practice will be canceled or today due to impending rain. Zoom info meeting at 5pm

If any parent or student who has not turned in paperwork yet wants to join, the zoom link is below.

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a4eaaab29a6fe3-winter2

Here is all of the information.

I just received an email with more clarity about this field trip. Due to Covid, only school aged children are allowed to attend, and no other aged siblings. If for that, or any other reason you are unable to attend, please login to the Sign Up to cancel by Friday, April 8. Any cancellations after that date will incur a repayment fee to Arete of $10 as Arete can not pay for events that students do not attend. You will meet Mrs. Codiga at the field trip that morning out front at 9:45. We will be split into two groups at that point for the field trip and we come together in between for lunch.

YMCA Model UN (Middle School): Got a sibling, neighbor, cousin, or friend in grades 6, 7, and 8? Model UN is for them! Model UN focuses on collaboration, understanding, public speaking, and geography.  Ambassadors learn more about the world around them and their role in it. Since covid continues to make travel tricky and planning a little more challenging, we'll be offering a Sacramento Valley focused program open to all middle schoolers in the region, with our local delegation meeting in downtown Grass Valley. It will consist of three Tuesday meetings (April 26, May 3, and May 10) and a weekend conference at the Y (May 14-15) --including a pool party! Registration is now open: bit.ly/capcomun2022

WATER BOTTLES!!!

WATER BOTTLES!!! We have an awesome filtration system, but for it to work, we need your kiddos to bring in their water bottles to refill when they get thirsty. We do not have a budget to provide paper cups for kids (and some are coming in every day, because it's HOT) and that is a lot of trash for us to keeping putting back out into the earth. Please remind your kiddo to bring their water bottle daily (with their name on it). Thanks so much!
