Sunday, January 15 Update

Good Evening Families!

Reminder that tomorrow is Martin Luther King Day. The Arete office is closed.

*Arete's first Arete OC Adventures Garden Meetup is scheduled Friday, January 20 as it is currently forecasted to be a dry day! Bring your kiddos to meet Lori Long at 12:30 for a hands-on garden lesson. Then from 1-1:30 Arete will watch the kiddos as they play together on the playground so the parents can meet to schedule and plan future garden meetups. Please RSVP to [email protected] so we can plan for how many kiddos will be attending!

*Arete’s Dragon is named!! Kayden Duckett, an Arete 7th grader, nominated Artemis and that name received the most votes. He will receive an Arete t-shirt. Thanks to all who made nominations and voted!

*Some families have been asking about resources for drama or plays. One of our former students is now participating in this program. They are not a vendor yet, but I reached out to them to see if they would become one. https://thecenterforthearts.org/classes/winter-theater-ages-45-and-67-class-2023/

January and February 2023 Enrichments

There are several classes that may be canceled due to low enrollment. If this is the case, we will give a few days notice. If a class is full and you want to be added to the waiting list, please email Sarah at [email protected]. Thanks!

For off site enrichment classes:

Stephanie and Wendy at Little Hummingbird Crafts announced their Arete OC Adventure Class Line Up. Check them out here, sign up, add to a budget form and use Enrichment Funds! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c094fa4a928a6fdc61-artclasses

Remember to email Sarah at [email protected] a few days before a kiddos’ birthday if you want to send in treats so I can check for food allergies. Nuts are never allowed, but some individual classes have food allergies that I also monitor closely. Thanks for keeping our students safe. We also strongly encourage healthier treats if possible as some families closely monitor their kiddos’ sugar and food dye intake.

Please remember that we are a NUT FREE school as we have several students with severe nut allergies. Kiddos may enjoy nut free granola bars and spreads on their sandwiches and all the nut free favorites when away from Arete. Thanks!
