Good Evening families!

Once a month, during the second week, Arete hosts a Parent Networking Meeting. We alternate Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. This month, parents are meeting Wednesday, October 12 at 9am in the Parent Resource Center or at the white picnic table by the swings. I’ll be bringing some new herbal tea, mandarins, and banana bread. We hope to see you there!

Monday, November 1- Professional Development Day- No School for Students but the office will be open and we will have the final class of Bow Building and Archery Class from 12:15-1:15.

Our next Parent Action Committee (PAC) meeting is Tuesday, October 25th at 12:15 in person only. We currently have three members and would love a lot more. This is your chance to have a real say in what is happening at Arete! At this meeting we discuss events, field trips, and enrichments we would like to see at Arete. Last year parents discussed forming a Parent’s Club for this year. We meet three times a year and also review Arete’s School Safety Plan (SSP) and Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). PAC meets three times a year. Please email [email protected] to be on the committee.

Family Math Game Night

We are excited to announce our FIRST Family Game Night on Wednesday, October 26th from 5:30-6:30. Bring the whole family to learn some new math games that you get to take home and play some of the math games that Arete owns. Sign Up to attend and please select a spot for every family member four and over who attends.

Arete Gear

We have two days left to order Fancloth for Arete Spirit Wear. This year they added more items for smaller children.The campaign is live through Monday, October 10. fancloth.shop/r2hgy 

Reminder that students may be dropped off at 8:55 and can walk directly to class. Students should not be dropped off any earlier or head out to the playground unless they are supervised by parents. Pick up is at 12pm. Students who are not picked up will be walked up to the office at 12:05 to wait for their ride to pick them up. 

Remember to email Sarah at [email protected] a few days before a kiddos’ birthday if you want to send in treats so I can check for food allergies. Nuts are never allowed, but some individual classes have food allergies that I also monitor closely. Thanks for keeping our students safe. We also strongly encourage healthier treats if possible as some families closely monitor their kiddos’ sugar and food dye intake.

We have lots of people who have signed up to bring in their kiddos for Trick or Treating, lots of kiddos who will already be there that day, and not enough people signed up to bring in and hand out treats. If you have not already done so, please sign up to bring something in to hand out that day (it can be healthy, sweet, a toy, whatever). If we do not have enough people to hand out some goodies, we need to cancel the event. Thanks so much!

Please remember that we are a NUT FREE school as we have several students with severe nut allergies. Kiddos may enjoy nut free granola bars and spreads on their sandwiches and all the nut free favorites when away from Arete. Thanks!
