Join us for a step back in time at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park in Sacramento! Students will explore this historic landmark and learn about life in California during the 1840s, before and during the Gold Rush era.

During our self-guided visit, families will have the opportunity to walk through the reconstructed fort, explore historic rooms, and discover what daily life was like at this early California settlement. Students can see areas such as the trade room, blacksmith shop, bakery, kitchen, and living quarters while learning about the people, industries, and events that shaped California’s history.

This field trip is a wonderful hands-on way for students to connect with California history while exploring artifacts, exhibits, and stories from the past.
