Practices will be 5-6:30 Monday - Thursday, Starting Mon 2/23.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Coach Tamo and I are thrilled to officially kick off the Arete Middle School volleyball season! We have already been so impressed by the girls' enthusiasm; it’s been wonderful to see them taking every possible opportunity to practice their skills during school hours. That kind of passion is exactly what builds a great program.

Our primary goal this season is to help the girls grow their technical skills while fostering a supportive, cohesive team environment. We want them to play hard, but more importantly, to play for each other.

Practice Schedule & Expectations

Our first practice begins this Wednesday, February 25th. To make the most of our gym time, practice starts promptly at 5:00 PM. We ask that the girls are dressed and ready to go by that time.

What to bring to practice:

  • Gear: Athletic shoes and workout clothing, Knee pads, spill proof water bottle.

  • Appearance: Hair must be tied up and out of the face.

  • Hydration: Water or sports drink only. Please note: No caffeinated drinks (energy drinks, coffee, etc.) are allowed.


Schedule
The earliest we can begin practice is Wednesday the 25th. There are two gyms at Magnolia, and three teams that need use of the gyms. Because of this, we will be practicing from 5-6:30 pm so we can have the full gym for our team.
  • Wednesday (25th)  and Thursday (26th)  5-6:30 PM
  • Friday Feb 27th 3:30-5 PM. (This is the only Friday Practice)
  • Going forward we will have practice Monday -Thursday 5-6:30 PM when a game is not scheduled. 
  • Location: Magnolia Small Gym. On the first day of practice, one of the coaches will be waiting in the parking lot to assist students to the correct location. 

Game Day Information

Games begin next week! We will provide jerseys to use for the season to all players at no additional cost. We will send out the game schedule as soon as it is finalized by the head of the athletic department. 

Game Day Uniform:

  • Provided team jersey.

  • Black leggings or volleyball spandex shorts.

  • Athletic shoes and hair tied back.
