Archery Lessons

In five weeks we will cover the major topics for the National Training System Form, adjusted for the Beginning Archer. The Archer can bring their own equipment or use provided equipment  (Genasis/Recurve bow, arrows, quiver, and arm guard.)  $150 each for six students enrolled. $145 each for eight students enrolled. $140 each for 10 students enrolled. The class lasts for 5 weeks. (Students must be 7 to attend. This is a requirement of the instructor for both safety and maturity reasons to participate and there are no exceptions.)

***This class is a series. If you enroll in this class, you cannot enroll in any other classes that overlap these times. Please add all dates to your calendar as Sign Up Genius will ONLY send you a reminder for the first class.

The topics below are the major steps in the form:

Unit 1 – Steps of Shooting, Alignment, Grip & Hook, String Release

Unit 2 – Posture & Stance, Set, Mind Set

Unit 3 – Lift & Coil, Set-up

Unit 4 – Angular Draw, Anchor, Transfer into Holding, Rhythm

Unit 5 – Expansion, Aim, Timing, Use of an Archery Sight

Unit 6 – Bow Release & Follow Through

Unit 7 – Complete Shot Cycle Review & Learn how to Score

Unit 8 – Shooting Competition Event!

The Unit 7 class will pull all that your child has learned together. Unit 8 class will be a friendly shooting competition!

4-8th Grade: Mondays 12:15-1:15 01/09, 01/23, 02/06, 02/13, 02/27
