Middle Mountain Interpretative Hikes of the Sutter Buttes Friday, March 7, 2025 - TK-8th Grades 9:30-2:00 or so. 

Families will meet the hiking guide either in Yuba City or Like Oak. All of the hikes are interpretive in nature – meaning that your guide will stop periodically and share natural and cultural history information. The hikes are almost always on uneven terrain, even if it is relatively level walking. They don’t follow many paths, nor are there groomed trails. All hikers should wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes. Athletic/running shoes are not always comfortable for most adults. Hiking sticks can be helpful. Everyone should carry snacks, lunch, water and whatever else they need for the day in a daypack. All hikes are on private property through the agreements the organization has with property owners. Arete students are paid for by Arete and parent hikers are $30. Non-Arete siblings should be at least 4 years old to attend and also cost $30. This fee MUST be paid on Mealtime or in exact cash/check at the Arete front office by February 21.
