We are excited to offer a new field trip this year. For the first time ever, Arete is planning an overnight field trip to Sutter’s Fort, and 3rd-5th graders will be able to participate in the Environmental Living Program. The overnight field trip dates are scheduled for April 27th and 28th, beginning at 9:30am.
In order for this field trip to take place and be successful we will need parent volunteers to lead stations throughout the day. At the stations students learn about and participate in many of the jobs that would have been performed at the Fort between 1839 and 1850. The stations are supplemented by staff-led interpretive presentations on the complex history of Sutter’s Fort. We are excited to share in this opportunity and look forward to creating some more wonderful memories with our Arete families.
Arete would pay for the field trip out of individual student funds. Our plan is to keep the trip at or under $100 per student. The price will include food for one parent per paying student. If an additional family member wants to attend, they will need to pay $25 out of pocket.
If you are interested in attending, please note that all students must have a parent chaperone present for the overnight portion of the field trip. We will hold a MANDATORY informational meeting in January 2023.
