Good evening! So much information coming out to you tonight with lost of new classes and enrichment and other Spring Events. Let me know if you have any questions! Important Dates (with new additions) added at the bottom.

We do have enough students to field a Girls’ Volleyball team. Please send your daughter in to the Arete office THIS week to complete an Athletic Clearance Form. Amanda Tamo will be the coach and will attend the informational meeting this week and will have more information then.

If your child participated in Art Docent this Tuesday and Wednesday, they created a beautiful picture of the Bridgeport Bridge that we will be entering into the Bridgeport Bridge Restoration Project & Student Competition. There’ll be a cash award for a winner in every grade level and the winners will be given the chance to be the first to walk across the bridge at the grand re-opening ceremony Fall 2020! Please sign and return the permission slip ASAP. We sent them home with students this week. I can email you a copy if you need one.

4-8th Grade Writing Workshop

Did you miss the last Writing Workshop focused on Informational Writing?  Do you need more practice with this genre?

We are offering another opportunity for students to work on Informative Writing.  In doing so we will work on note taking and completing the writing process from drafting through to final copy. New to this session will be the practice of writing the Perfect Answer to informational articles.  A necessary skill, as short essay answers are used in all school subjects.  Students will also have an opportunity to develop their typing skills utilizing an online program. Finally, students will be given additional resource time to complete individual assignments.

Mrs. Codiga will run this workshop on Tuesdays for five weeks. It is important for your student to attend each session for the duration of this class 2/11 - 3/10. The work we do one day will roll over to subsequent days.

9:00-10:30 Additional Resource Time--Cost $7.50 per week

10:30-12:00 Writing Workshop--Cost up to $15 per week

*Please bring a snack and water bottle!
