Enrollment

How do I enroll my child? 

Please complete the “Apply Now” for the 2023-2024 School year to apply to Arete Charter Academy. Then complete the forms under “Enroll Now” to begin registration in the Pleasant Ridge Union School District. You will then receive an email to schedule an intake appointment.

 

What documents are needed to enroll?

All students are required to have the following documents:

  • Birth certificate, passport, certificate of live birth or other valid evidence of birth date.
  • Immunization record or Immunization Waiver.
  • (If your child has been previously enrolled in a school, Arete will request their cumulative folders, which should contain these documents.)
  • Proof of Residency.

    All new enrollees’ need to provide one document from each of the categories below:


    Category l - One Proof Required:  At least one of the following documents showing the name and residence address of the parent/guardian or caregiver within the district: (Education Code 48204.1)


    1. A copy of the deed
    2. A copy of the most recent mortgage statement
    3. Property tax bill/payment receipt dated within the past year
    4. A copy of the fully executed lease/rental agreement.  The lease/rental agreement must show the rental address and include the lessor/lessee names and signatures
    5. Pay Stub
    6. Voter Registration
    7. Correspondence from a government agency
    8. Declaration of Residency executed by the student's parent/legal guardian

    Returning Students


    Category ll - One Proof Required: At least one utility service statement or payment receipt dated within the last forty-five (45) days showing the name and service address of the parent/guardian or caregiver within the district.  On-line documentation is accepted as long as it fulfills the requirement of a complete statement (all pages).  Utility set-up and 15 day notice letters are acceptable proofs of residency if statement or payment receipt is submitted within 30 days of residency verification.


    Acceptable utility services include: (Education Code 48204.1)


    1. PG&E
    2. Nevada Irrigation District (NID)
    3. Waste Management
    4. Residential cable/internet/satellite
    5. Landline telephone (cell and long-distance service not accepted).

    If the student is an unaccompanied youth as defined in 42 USC 11434A, a declaration of residency executed by the student will be required. 


    If the student is residing in the home of a caregiving adult within district boundaries, an affidavit executed by the caregiving adult in accordance with Family Code 6552 will be required.

What is your Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Policy?

Transitional Kindergarten is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program. Students must be 5-years-old between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024 to qualify for Transitional Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year.

 

What is the last day of enrollment to be eligible to receive Instructional Funds?

Students who start between February 1 and March 22 will receive prorated curriculum funds only. No students will be accepted after March 22.

 

What is the last day of enrollment?

The final day for enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year may be March 22, 2024.
