Sunday, May 22 Update
Good day,
Wow, it’s so hard to see how quickly this year has passed and how few days we have left! What a wonderful year we have had! For the first time ever, we have filled our capacity and have closed enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year. At this point we are accepting applications and those students will be placed into a lottery for any spots that open up. This week I will be sending out directions to update your Power School forms and completion of that will secure your children’s spots for next school year. If you have previously told us your child will be attending Arete next year and your plans have changed, please email us ASAP so we can open that spot for another child. We are also hiring new staff based on these numbers, so please let us know if your plans have changed as it also affects teacher’s jobs.
5th Grade Picnic- 5th grade families (and Arete staff) are invited to our informal 5th Grade Picnic on Wednesday, June 1 after Fun Field Day from 12-12:45. Students can attend both events, either event or none of the events! Please bring your own picnic lunch. I will provide ice cream, bowls and spoons. If you attend, please bring a topping such as whipped cream,. chocolate sauce, sprinkles, chocolate chips, cherries, etc to share.

Please RSVP if you are coming to the 5th Grade Picnic and let me know what you will bring for the ice cream toppings. We have chocolate sauce so far.
*Arete Parent’s Club- We are looking for a head parent that would facilitate the communication for this informal group. We are thinking they would meet monthly in the Parent Resource Center. There would not be official officers yet, unless the group decided they wanted that. Please let me know if you would be interested in being the Communication Lead.
*Library- We are no longer checking out books for this school year to students or parents as we are actively collecting books. Starting June 13, Mrs. Mary Chaddock will have some office days open when families can come in and check out books for the summer. Mrs. Mary is working diligently at compiling lists of what each student needs to return at the end of the year and has been sending those emails out. If your child is returning next year, you may complete the following Google form to check out items for the summer.

Sunday, May 1 Update
Good day,
*Staff Appreciation- It’s not too late to sign up to help treat the staff this week. Also, the lovely parents who are organizing this (thank you to them) are requesting students bring in flowers to their teachers on Monday and Tuesday. There will be cute mason jars in the classes to hold them. Teacher Appreciation Week
*Good news- CAASP tests are shorter this year and students are completing them more quickly so Room 1 will be open for CAASP testing tomorrow and room 2 will be open for 4-8th Resource Center. We are also doing a fun raffle. Every time a student completes a test, they get to put a raffle ticket into the tub. At the end of the test, we will pull our many, many names to choose a prize. We will have Crumble cookies, Pop It Bracelets and Pop it Fidget Toys, fun journals, notebooks, and pens. We are asking all kiddos to try their best. CAASP Testing
*We are so excited to offer Arete's FIRST yearbook created by our Blended Middle School. The deadline to upload pictures is May 1st. Here is the link. Yearbook Photo Drop The deadline to customize pages and to PURCHASE the yearbook is Wednesday, May 4th for school delivery on June 3rd. If you order after that you will pay shipping and it will be delivered to your house at a later date. Yearbook order information- www.treering.com/validate. Our school’s passcode is 101636661669265.
*PRSD Survey- I was hoping to have 81 families complete the survey as that would have been 50% of our families. We ended up with 71, which is 44% and better than last year. The comments you left were so amazing, heartfelt and much appreciated so Meredith Doerr and I will be eating a cricket this week on Wednesday with the big kids. (EEEK)
